Sui Lin Goei

Dr. Sui Lin Goei is a Professor at Windesheim University of Applied Sciences and leads the academic group of Inclusive Learning Environments since 2018. She also holds a position at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU) within the Teacher Academy and LEARN! Learning Sciences. As a founder of Lesson Study in the Netherlands, she pioneered School Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) nationally and across Europe.

Education:

• Bachelor's/Master's in Pedagogy and Educational Sciences from Leiden University
• PhD in Educational Psychology from University of Twente (1994) with thesis on Mental Models and Problem Solving
• Registered healthcare psychologist with clinical and school-based experience

Research Focus: Designing inclusive learning environments, adaptive teaching strategies, and teacher professionalization through collaborative frameworks like Lesson Study. Her work emphasizes comparative international projects and integrating emerging technologies to address behavioral and learning challenges. She coordinates SWPBS implementation projects, including EU-funded initiatives and transatlantic collaborations.

Professional Contributions: Supervised multiple PhD students on educational needs and care collaboration. Held visiting professorships at Nanyang Technological University (Singapore), Texas A&M University (USA), and Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (Indonesia).
