Professor Sue Walker serves as Associate Dean (Research) in the Faculty of Education at Southern Cross University, where she leads the Early Years Learning Lab. Her research examines child development in inclusive educational settings, focusing on epistemic cognition, teacher-student relationships, and preschool-to-school transitions.
She employs longitudinal methodologies to investigate how early self-regulation predicts academic and social outcomes. Current projects analyze classroom literacy environments for neurodiverse learners and epistemic reflexivity in teacher education. Her scholarship informs evidence-based practices for executive function development through playworld models.
