About
Sue Brailey is Senior Lecturer in Midwifery at Middlesex University's Faculty of Health, Social Care and Education, where she teaches Foundations of Midwifery Care in Labour and Birth. She maintains clinical practice with the Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust case-loading home birth team. Brailey's research examines home birth experiences, postnatal care quality, workplace bullying in midwifery, and midwifery-led care implementation strategies.
Her scholarly work addresses intermittent auscultation techniques, labor pain perspectives, and women-centered care models. Research often challenges medicalized birth paradigms and promotes evidence-based midwifery practices.
Brailey supervises doctoral students investigating intrusion detection systems, ontology development, neural network models, and Dempster-Shafer logic applications. She serves as an expert witness for investigations into midwifery practice standards.
