Visiting Assistant Professor · Low-dimensional topology
University of Notre DameAbout
Sudipta Ghosh is a Kenna Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Notre Dame. He holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from Louisiana State University (2016), an M.Math from the Indian Statistical Institute, Bangalore (2015), and a B.Sc. from Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandira (2013). His research focuses on low-dimensional topology, knot theory, and Floer homology, with particular emphasis on instanton/monopole Floer theories and sutured manifold decompositions.
His work bridges geometric topology and algebraic structures, addressing problems related to tau invariants, 3-manifold invariants, and representation varieties. Publications include studies on Floer homology decompositions and applications to knot concordance. He is affiliated with the Topology research group at Notre Dame and maintains an office in Hayes-Healy Bldg 230.
