Subramanya Pandruvada

Subramanya Pandruvada, PhD, is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Biomedical & Community Health Sciences, College of Dental Medicine, Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). He holds an adjunct role as an Associate Member of the Graduate Faculty at MUSC's College of Graduate Studies. His research focuses on tumor microenvironment interactions and osteoimmunological aspects of periodontal diseases, aiming to develop novel therapies targeting cancer and inflammatory bone disorders.

Education:

• PhD in Zoology/Endocrinology from Central Drug Research Institute, Lucknow/Dr BR Ambedkar University, Agra, India
• Postdoctoral training in Osteoimmunology at Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon, France
• Postdoctoral training in Cellular Interactions at Institut de Recherches Cliniques de Montréal, Canada

Research Interests:

His lab investigates tumor microenvironment dynamics in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC), focusing on immune evasion mechanisms and stromal interactions. Additionally, they study macrophage roles in periodontal disease progression and bone loss. Key areas include cytokine regulation (e.g., TGF-β), immune cell polarization, and bacterial-driven osteoclastogenesis.
