Dr. Su Shin is an Associate Professor in Family & Consumer Studies at the University of Utah. She holds a PhD in Human Sciences from The Ohio State University (2016) and degrees from Seoul National University.
Her research examines economic and cognitive aspects of aging:
- Climate impacts on elderly cognition
- Financial decision-making in later life
- Health disparities across racial/ethnic groups
- Disaster resilience in aging populations
Recent work analyzes heat stress effects on cognitive function and disaster-related health behaviors during COVID-19. Methodological strengths include longitudinal data analysis and behavioral economics approaches.
