Su Hyeon Cho

Su Hyeon Cho is a DPhil (PhD) candidate in Asian and Middle Eastern Studies at St Antony’s College, University of Oxford. Supervised by Professor Walter Armbrust and Professor Laurent Mignon, Cho focuses on ethnographic research in Hatay, Turkey, examining how food rituals like harisa feasts mediate crises and community resilience.

Publication Trends: Recent articles explore harisa feasts in post-crisis contexts (2023-2024), emphasizing foodways as transcultural practices. Earlier work (2019) analyzes identity construction through the Evvel Temmuz festival.
