Su Gao

Su Gao is an Associate Professor in the School of Teacher Education at the University of Central Florida (UCF), part of the College of Community Innovation and Education. Her research focuses on science education, teacher training, and supporting linguistically diverse students. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Dr. Gao’s expertise includes secondary science teacher education and comparative studies in science education. Her work examines teaching strategies’ impact on student performance, particularly in international and multicultural contexts. She has published in journals like Teaching and Teacher Education and Compare, and secured grants from the National Science Foundation (NSF) and Florida Department of Education.

Her teaching spans undergraduate and graduate courses in both online and hybrid formats. She actively mentors doctoral students and chairs dissertation committees. Dr. Gao is involved in professional organizations such as AERA and ASTE, contributing to national and international educational dialogues.
