Dr. Stuart Jeffrey is a Research Fellow in International Heritage Visualization at the Digital Design Studio of The Glasgow School of Art. He holds a combined honors degree in Computer Science and Archaeology from the University of Glasgow, where he also completed his PhD in 3D modeling of early medieval sculpted stones in 2003.
His research focuses on heritage visualization, digital technologies, and community co-design of 3D heritage resources. He explores how collaborative production of digital heritage transforms relationships between academia, individuals, and broader communities. His work spans tangible and intangible heritage, emphasizing digital preservation, resource discovery, and social media integration in archaeology.
Jeffrey has published extensively on topics such as archaeological informatics, visualization techniques, and linked data applications. His career includes roles at the West of Scotland Archaeology Service, the Archaeology Data Service (ADS) at the University of York, and current leadership in international heritage projects.
