Stuart A. Selber is Professor of English at Penn State University where he serves as Director of Digital Education, Director of the Penn State Digital English Studio, and Director of the Program in Writing and Rhetoric. He holds affiliate appointments in Information Sciences and Technology and the Center for Socially Responsible AI. With degrees from Delaware, Northeastern and Michigan Tech, Selber's interdisciplinary work bridges technical communication, computers and composition, and human-computer interaction.
His research examines:

- Rhetorical aspects of technology
- Writing program administration
Professor Selber has received numerous national awards including the Ken Rainey Award for lifetime research contributions and multiple best book awards from NCTE and CCCC. He leads the Program in Writing and Rhetoric serving over 18,000 students annually through first-year writing and discipline-specific writing courses that incorporate multiliteracies frameworks.
His professional service includes past presidency of ATTW and CPTSC, and committee leadership for CCCC and ACM SIGDOC. Beyond academia, Selber has industry experience documenting software for companies including DuPont, Lotus Development, and Micron Technology.
