Stoyko Mitov

Senior Assistant Professor Dr. Stoyko Mitov serves in the Department of Finance and Accounting at the Faculty of Economics of Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski". He joined the university in 2012 initially as a part-time professor, transitioning to a full-time assistant professor position in November 2018.

His educational background includes:

• Two bachelor's degrees in "Macroeconomics" and "Business Management" from Plovdiv University "Paisiy Hilendarski"
• Master's degree in "Accounting and Control" from Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski"
• Doctoral dissertation defended in 2018 on cost management in the public sector through management accounting tools

Dr. Mitov's research focuses on practical applications of cost management and accounting systems, particularly examining how management accounting tools can enhance financial decision-making in public sector organizations. His work bridges theoretical accounting frameworks with real-world implementation challenges.

With substantial industry experience as an accountant, senior accountant, and chief accountant, he brings practical insights to his academic work, especially regarding the development of accounting processes for effective cost management and financial analysis in enterprises.
