Stijn Ruiter

Stijn Ruiter is a Professor of Evidence-Based Policing at the Department of Criminology, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, and a Senior Researcher at the Netherlands Institute for the Study of Crime and Law Enforcement (NSCR). He holds a PhD in Social Sciences (2008) and MA in Sociology (2002) from Radboud University Nijmegen. His research focuses on geographic/environmental criminology, evidence-based policing, and quantitative methods, with a specialization in offender decision-making and crime location patterns.
