Steven Wilson is Professor and Director of Graduate Studies in USF's Department of Communication, with affiliations to Purdue University's Military Family Research Institute. His research examines how individuals navigate difficult conversations in family, health, and workplace contexts, with current projects focusing on military family resilience during reintegration and societal disruptions like job loss or political conflict.
Wilson has authored over 100 publications including the book 'Seeking and Resisting Compliance' and co-edited 'New Directions in Interpersonal Communication Research'. His work develops theoretical frameworks for understanding compliance, disenfranchisement, and resilience communication.
