Steven Vogel

Professor Steven Vogel is a Professor of Musculoskeletal Health and Care at the UCO School of Osteopathy, Health Sciences University. He holds leadership roles as Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Osteopathic Medicine and President of the Society for Back Pain Research. Previously, he practiced in the UK National Health Service for over 20 years, combining clinical work with research and educational roles. His academic focus spans evidence-informed practice, communication, consent processes, and interprofessional approaches to manual therapy. He has contributed to national clinical guidelines via NICE and the UK Spine Societies Board, and reviewed the WHO back pain guidelines. Prof Vogel also serves on the Osteopathic Foundation Board and United Kingdom Spine Societies Board.

Education: Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) with Honors.

Research interests emphasize musculoskeletal health, adverse event analysis, and interprofessional collaboration in manual therapies. His work bridges clinical practice, education, and policy, addressing gaps in care delivery and patient outcomes.
