Steven R. Hick

Steven R. Hick is a Professor of the Practice of GIS and Director of the GIS Distance Learning Program at the University of Denver. He also serves as the Director of the MS (GIS) Online Program and has been instrumental in shaping Geographic Information Science (GISc) education and research in the Department of Geography and the Environment for over 25 years.

• Provides crime mapping technical assistance to law enforcement agencies
• Teaches crime mapping and analysis, and GIS courses for the University of Denver Transportation Institute

Prior to joining DU, he worked as a Technical Consultant at UGC Consulting (1989–1994) and as a Cartographer with the Defense Mapping Agency in Texas (1985–1988), where he also taught in the University of Texas system.
