Research Focus
As an architect-urban planner and historian, Melemis investigates the interferences between architecture, urban planning, social and human sciences, and artistic fields. A second axis explores observation and recording devices for the sensitive qualities of the territory in order to inform its transformation. He is an associate member of the IPRAUS laboratory (ENSA Paris-Belleville) and an active participant in the BazarUrbain collective since 2004, producing urban studies grounded in residents’ narratives and sensory urban experience.
Currently he is pursuing a PhD that extends these lines of inquiry, integrating historical analysis with creative methodologies for reading and re-imagining contemporary metropolitan spaces.
