Steven M. Chemtob is an Associate Professor of Instruction and Undergraduate Advisor (Environmental Science) in the Department of Earth and Environmental Science at Temple University's College of Science and Technology. His research focuses on mineralogical, geochemical, and stable isotope signatures of water-rock interactions, including field studies of chemical weathering in near-surface environments, laboratory experiments, and advanced materials characterization using synchrotron-based techniques. Current research interests include mechanisms of Precambrian banded iron-formation deposition and the mineral record of ancient aqueous alteration on Mars.
Dr. Chemtob advises undergraduate Environmental Science students and maintains an active research program.
