Dr. Steven Jordan is the Marcia Belmar Willock Professor of Practice in Finance at the State University of New York at Oswego, within the School of Business. He teaches courses in corporate finance, financial statement analysis, and investments. His research focuses on market inefficiencies, behavioral finance, and pricing anomalies, with a particular interest in how cognitive biases impact market dynamics. He has published extensively in top journals, including the Journal of International Business Studies and Quantitative Finance.
Dr. Jordan holds a PhD in Finance from Yale University, an MS in Applied Mathematics from Caltech, and a BS in Mathematics from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Before academia, he worked in mortgage research at HUD, pension consulting at KPMG, and entrepreneurial ventures. He has managed student portfolios at SUNY-Oswego and the University of Memphis.
His honors include the CFA Best Paper Award (2009) and the Asian Pacific Derivatives Association Best Paper Award (2011). He has presented research across five continents, including at MIT, Cambridge University, and Peking University. Outside academia, he farms, renovates old houses, and explores outdoor activities.
