Steven Hatfield

Steven Hatfield serves as an Instructor of Jazz Drumset in the School of Music at the College of Fine Arts, Wichita State University. A prominent musician in the Wichita, Kansas area for over 30 years, he has performed extensively in rock and jazz ensembles, the Wichita Symphony, and Music Theatre Wichita, in addition to recording numerous albums and commercial jingles.

His expertise spans jazz drumming, percussion, and music pedagogy. As an active performer and educator, he endorses Stone Custom Drums, Zildjian Cymbals, Vic Firth Drumsticks, and Remo Drumheads, conducting clinics and master classes throughout the Midwest, Canada, and Mexico City. His creative output includes the debut album "Just Be Wally" on Digital Boy Records.

Mr. Hatfield maintains private teaching studios at Midwest Drum & Percussion and Air House Music Academy, offering structured lessons and downloadable educational resources like worksheets and transcriptions.
