Steven Harris is a Professor in the Couple and Family Therapy Specialization at the University of Minnesota's College of Education and Human Development. He directs the MN Couples on the Brink Project, which focuses on developing and evaluating best practices for couples at high risk for divorce.

Harris has received multiple awards including the 2008 Outstanding Service from Texas Healthy Marriage Initiative and the 2005 Meritorious Service Award from Texas Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. He serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Marital and Family Therapy.
He is currently accepting graduate advisees for the PhD program and teaches courses in family psychology, marriage and family therapy supervision, and clinical interventions for couples.
