Steven G. Marks

Dr. Steven G. Marks is Alumni Professor in Clemson University's Department of History. His research examines the intersection of culture and economics through historical lenses, particularly focusing on Russia, Spain, and global capitalism. He received the Richard Stites Senior Scholar Award (2017) and CAAH Faculty Member of the Year (2018).

Key publications analyze Russian revolutionary impacts, the Trans-Siberian Railroad's historical significance, and Spanish viticulture. Recent articles explore insurgency warfare in post-WWI Ukraine (2022) and comparative global impacts of the Russian Revolution (2021). His monograph The Information Nexus (2016) offers a reinterpretation of global capitalism from medieval times to present.
