Steven Conrad is an Adjunct Professor at the University of British Columbia's Institute for Resources, Environment and Sustainability (IRES), where he serves as Interim Chair for the UBC Future Waters Research Excellence Cluster. His research integrates decision sciences and systems engineering to address water-energy-food systems, climate adaptation, and urban infrastructure resilience.
Professor Conrad holds a B.Sc in Engineering and Psychology from the University of Arizona, an M.Sc in Environmental Technology Management from Arizona State University, and a Ph.D. in Resource and Environmental Management from Simon Fraser University. His current work develops behavioral and complex system models coupling social and engineering sciences to inform policy decisions.
His professional service includes board membership with the BC Water and Waste Association, where he previously chaired climate change and risk/resiliency committees. He regularly advises the Water Research Foundation and presents at international conferences on sustainable resource management.
