Dr. Steven A. Hovan is a Professor and Chairperson of the Department of Geoscience at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP). He was honored as IUP's 2007–08 University Professor, recognizing his exceptional contributions to teaching, research, and service. His research focuses on the interplay between atmospheric circulation, oceanic currents, and global climate change. Hovan holds a Ph.D. in Oceanography (Marine Geology and Geochemistry) from the University of Michigan (1993).
