Steve Wilson

Dr. Steve Wilson serves as an Associate Professor and Department Head of Criminal Justice at the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith's College of Arts and Sciences. With 11 years of professional experience prior to academia (4 years in U.S. Air Security, 7 years as a police officer), he brings practical expertise to his academic role.

• Ph.D. in Criminal Justice (2005, University of Nebraska)
• Teaching areas: law enforcement, management/supervision, research methods, statistics, race/ethnicity, and human trafficking

Research Interests: Focuses on curriculum development, firearm violence, concealed weapons policies, public attitudes toward the criminal justice system, and organizational policy frameworks.
