Steve Swidler is the Hanson/KPMG Professor of Business and Finance in the Department of Economics at Lafayette College. With a career spanning multiple institutions, he has previously taught at Auburn University, University of Texas at Arlington, Southern Methodist University, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and Rice University, alongside summer appointments at Victoria University (New Zealand) and the Oslo School of Business.
Research and Teaching Interests: His work focuses on corporate finance, investments, derivatives, and residential real estate. At Lafayette, he teaches courses such as Economics 214: Sustainable Finance and Economics 320: Corporate Finance.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree from Oberlin College
- Ph.D. in Economics from Brown University
Professional Experience: Prior to academia, he worked at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and the economic consulting firm Lexecon.
