Steve Lawrence

Dr. Steve Lawrence serves as the Associate Dean and Executive Director for the University of Houston's Texas Gulf Coast Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network. With over 40 years of executive leadership experience in multinational corporations like Pepsi Cola and Dell Computers, he transitioned to academia and nonprofit sectors after founding a successful wine importing business. His expertise spans organizational development, economic impact initiatives, and public health administration.

• Education: DrPH in Community Health Practice (University of Texas School of Public Health), MBA (University of Denver)

As a senior leader in the SBDC Network, he oversees 13 centers across 32 counties, focusing on job creation, business expansion, and capital access. He also contributes to national SBDC accreditation processes through the ASBDC Board of Directors.
