Dr. Steve Lambert is Chair of the Department of Chemistry, Mathematics, and Computer Science and Associate Professor of Chemistry/Forensic Science at Newberry College. He holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of South Carolina (1990) and a B.S. in Chemistry from Mars Hill College (1983).
His expertise includes forensic DNA analysis, crime scene processing, and biochemical investigations. Prior to academia, he served as a DNA analyst at the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) for over 15 years, processing major crime scenes and testifying as an expert witness in over 80 court cases. He conducted research at the FBI Academy in Quantico and participated in the Scientific Working Group on DNA Analytical Methods.
Dr. Lambert continues to lecture nationally on forensic DNA techniques to law enforcement agencies.
