Associate Professor Steve Kinnane is Chair of Indigenous Studies at the Nulungu Research Institute of the University of Notre Dame Australia. He holds a BA (Hons) in Sustainability from Murdoch University and is a part-time PhD Research Scholar at the ANU’s Research School of Social Sciences. His career spans over 30 years, combining research, teaching, and community-focused projects.

Research Interests: Steve’s work explores Aboriginal history, creative documentary (visual and literary), and the intersections of sustainability, community, Country, economy, and human development. He emphasizes culturally led solutions in sustainable livelihoods, cultural rejuvenation, and education pathways.
