Steve Hood

Steve Hood is an Assistant Professor at Augusta University's Dental College of Georgia (DCG), specializing in Restorative Sciences. He began his academic career in research and academia, later spending seven years in the Indian Health Service and non-profit dentistry, followed by 27 years in private practice implementing digital dentistry technologies. Since March 2025, he has been a full-time faculty member at DCG, where he focuses on teaching and mentoring students.

Dr. Hood has contributed to academic service as a member of the Digital Dentistry Task Force and the Faculty Senate, and serves as Faculty Advisor for the Give a Smile Committee. He has held leadership roles in professional organizations, including the American Dental Association and Colorado Dental Association, and maintains a consulting business for dental malpractice defense.
