Steve Harry

Steve Harry is a Lecturer in Human Geography and Visiting Scholar in the Department of Political Economy at King's College London, affiliated with the School of Global Affairs and Faculty of Social Science & Public Policy. He holds a PhD in Geography from King's (2022), focusing on energy transitions and spatial politics. His research examines energy systems, labor-environmentalism, and just transitions, with projects funded by King's Climate and Sustainability Seed Fund. He is part of the Contested Development and Environment & Public Policy research groups.

Research Interests: Energy transitions, political ecology, climate politics, fossil capital, spatial dynamics of energy systems, and labor-nature relations. Current projects explore North Sea energy shifts and labor roles in India/South Africa.

Awards:

• Course Director’s Prize in MA for Outstanding Dissertation (2013)

Teaching: Leads modules on geography research methods, climate change, and urban studies at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Previously taught geopolitical theory, development geographies, and field research.

Collaborations: Involved in King's Climate Research Hub and Just Transitions projects analyzing energy policy shifts in the North Sea region.
