Steve Carr

Dr. Steven M. Carr is Professor and Chair of the Computer Science Department at Western Michigan University, with additional roles as Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Education. His research focuses on memory hierarchy management, compiler optimization, and computer security education. Carr has developed visualization tools for teaching secure coding practices and conducts research on phishing detection models.

His recent publications explore experiential learning for AI education, cybersecurity frameworks, and secure programming techniques. Carr teaches courses spanning compiler construction, parallel programming, and computer security.
