Dr. Stephen Weir is a Senior Lecturer at the Whitaker School of Government and Management, part of the Institute of Public Administration (IPA). He coordinates Economics programmes and teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Microeconomics, Public Sector Economics, Health Economics, Business Economics, Economic Growth, and Research Methods. He is also the Programme Director for the IPA's Diploma in Health Economics.
Education: PhD and BA in Economics from Trinity College Dublin, and an M.Econ.Sc. from University College Dublin. He has taught at IPA, University College Dublin (UCD), Queen's University Belfast (QUB), and Dublin City University (DCU).
Research focuses on Institutional Economics, Policy Change, Regulation, Transport Policy, and Health Policy. He actively contributes to both academic and applied policy analysis within the Whitaker School's multidisciplinary environment.
