Stephen L. Ross is Professor of Economics at the University of Connecticut and Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Syracuse University and specializes in urban economics, housing discrimination, and residential segregation.
His research examines housing and mortgage lending discrimination, neighborhood effects, and local public finance, with funding from HUD, MacArthur Foundation, and NIH. Professor Ross has consulted for government agencies including the New York State Attorney General's office and Fannie Mae.
Recent research focuses on racial disparities in housing markets, education policy impacts, and economic consequences of the Great Recession. He serves as co-editor for Regional Science and Urban Economics and Education Finance and Policy.
