Stephen Redding is a Lecturer at the Rice School of Architecture, where he has taught the Technology IV: Environment course since 2009. He holds an M.S. and B.S. from Rice University. A professional engineer and LEED accredited professional, Redding has over thirty years of experience in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems design, with leadership roles in engineering firms like Lockwood Andrews Newnam, Inc. and his own firms, Stephen M. Redding PE, Inc. and Redding Linden Burr, Inc. (RLB). He served as Houston Chapter president of ASHRAE (2007–2008) and led RLB until its 2014 acquisition by KCI Technologies, Inc. Though semi-retired from consulting, he continues to advise clients on MEP systems and project management.
His expertise spans sustainable building practices, HVAC design, and environmental technology in architecture.
