Stephen Page

Stephen Page is an Associate Professor of Saxophone and Director of Undergraduate Studies at the University of Texas at Austin. Renowned internationally for his saxophone performances, he has appeared across four continents and collaborated with prestigious conductors. A leading figure in expanding the saxophone repertoire, he has commissioned works from composers like John Mackey and David Maslanka. As Alto Saxophone chair of the Zzyzx Quartet, he promotes innovative arrangements of classical works, exemplified by their recording 'Intersections'.

Dr. Page's accolades include top prizes in over ten national/international competitions, including the Yamaha Young Performing Artist Competition and Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition. His teaching focuses on saxophone performance and undergraduate advising, with a commitment to advancing chamber music through the Zzyzx Quartet's educational outreach.

He actively commissions new compositions and serves on panels such as the 2014 Barlow Endowment Prize. His work bridges classical traditions with modern innovation, solidifying his role as a pivotal figure in contemporary saxophone artistry.
