Dr. Stephen Moses is a Professor in the Department of Community Health Sciences at the Max Rady College of Medicine, University of Manitoba. He holds cross-appointments in the Department of Medical Microbiology and has affiliations with the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences. A globally recognized physician-scientist, his career spans over 35 years focused on sexual transmitted infections (STIs), HIV prevention, and reproductive health in resource-poor settings. Moses co-led the landmark randomized controlled trial (RCT) on male circumcision for HIV prevention in Kenya, influencing national policies across 14 African countries. He has also directed HIV/AIDS programs in India, including the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s Avahan Initiative in Karnataka state.
