Stephen Midlock

Dr. Stephen Midlock serves as Professor of Education at the University of St. Francis College of Education since 2004, where he founded and designed the Doctor of Education program including its Superintendent Licensure and Stewardship, Leadership, and Learning concentrations.

With 20+ years of practical experience as a high school English teacher, Department Chair, Assistant Principal, Principal, Personnel Director, Assessment Director, and Assistant Superintendent, Dr. Midlock specializes in translating real-world administrative challenges into educational frameworks. His research emphasizes case-based methodology for developing leadership competencies and resolving complex dilemmas in educational settings.

His seminal 2010 publication "Case Studies for Educational Leadership: Solving Administrative Dilemmas" (Pearson) established foundational case studies, complemented by 65 additional cases developed for doctoral coursework that bridge theory and practice in educational leadership training.

Dr. Midlock actively contributes to institutional governance as former Chair of the Academic Assembly and committee service, while mentoring doctoral students through applied administrative simulations drawn from his extensive field experience.
