Stephen Maybank is a Professor of Computer Science and former academic at Birkbeck, University of London (2004–2020). He holds visiting professorships at the Chinese Academy of Sciences' Institute of Automation and multiple Chinese universities, including Northwestern Polytechnical University and Zhongyuan University of Technology. His research focuses on computer vision, image processing, and statistical methods, with contributions to camera calibration and applications of the Fisher-Rao metric.
