Dr. Stephen M. Elardo is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geological Sciences at the University of Florida. His research focuses on planetary geochemistry, experimental petrology, and lunar science, utilizing high-temperature/pressure experiments to simulate planetary conditions. He leads the Florida Planets Lab and investigates planetary differentiation processes and crust formation.
Education: Ph.D. in Earth and Planetary Sciences from the University of New Mexico (2014).
Research Interests: Combines experimental techniques with non-traditional stable isotopes and planetary material analysis to explore terrestrial planet evolution. Specializes in planetary crust formation, Moon geology, and igneous processes.
