Stephen Key serves as Adjunct Assistant Professor of Oboe at Shenandoah Conservatory since 2012. As principal oboist for The New Orchestra of Washington, he maintains an active international performance career across Europe and Russia. Educational background includes a Performance Diploma from Oberlin Conservatory of Music, where he studied under Rebecca Henderson, James Caldwell, and Rudolf Vrbsky. His teaching extends beyond the university through private instruction and faculty positions at NOWsummer Festival and Bocal Majority/Operation O.B.O.E. double reed camp.
