Stephen Howard is a Research Fellow in Philosophy at KU Leuven (2018–2024, Flanders-funded) and a Lecturer at P.A.R.T.S. contemporary dance school in Brussels. He holds a PhD from the Centre for Research in Modern European Philosophy at Kingston University London. From 2025, he will lead a DFG-funded research project at Goethe-Universität Frankfurt examining Kant's 'regulative cosmology.'

His research focuses on Kant’s theoretical philosophy, early modern natural philosophy (Leibniz, French/German Enlightenment), and metaphysical concepts of force/power. He co-edited The Edinburgh Critical History of Early Modern and Enlightenment Philosophy and edited a volume of Howard Caygill’s essays.
