Stephen H. Shore

Stephen H. Shore is the R. Means Davis Professor of Risk Management and Insurance at Georgia State University’s Robinson College of Business. He also serves as Executive Director of the S.S. Huebner Foundation for Insurance Education. With a Ph.D. from Harvard University and an undergraduate degree from Princeton University, Dr. Shore has held faculty positions at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and Johns Hopkins University. His research focuses on mortgage/credit card default mechanisms, income dynamics, and household risk-sharing strategies.

His research explores how economic risks impact households through studies on income volatility transmission across generations, labor market resilience, and policy interventions like the Treasury’s HAMP program. Recent work examines post-disaster financial behavior following Hurricane Harvey and educational pathways’ earnings impacts.

Professional Contributions: Served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Treasury in the Office of Economic Policy.
