Stephen Field is a Professor of Chinese and East Asian Studies at Trinity University, where he founded the Chinese program in 1990. He holds a Ph.D. and B.A. in English Romanticism from the University of Texas at Austin, with a focus on nature poetry that later informed his transition to Chinese studies through Daoist philosophy. His academic work bridges pre-Qin Chinese literature and environmental cosmology, particularly through fengshui studies.
