Stephen F. Baron

Dr. Stephen F. Baron is a Professor at Bridgewater College, specializing in microbiology and molecular biology. He holds a B.S. and M.S. in Biology from the University of Dayton, a Ph.D. in Anaerobic Microbiology from Virginia Tech, and completed postdoctoral research at the Medical College of Virginia focusing on bile acid metabolism by colon bacteria.

His teaching encompasses general, environmental, and pathogenic microbiology, molecular biology, and introductory biology for both majors and non-majors. Research interests include polyhydroxyalkanoates (bacterial plastics), biofuels production, and microbial fuel cells. Personal interests span music, woodworking, gardening, and automobile repair.
