Stephen Bollinger is a Lecturer at Mozarteum University's Department of Scenography, where he has taught lighting design, lighting technology, and colour theory since the winter semester 2019/20. His appointment follows a distinguished career in technical theater and opera, including roles as Deputy Head of Lighting at Hamburg Thalia Theater (1997–2006) and Head of Lighting at Staatstheater Stuttgart (2006–2010). Since 2010, he has operated as a freelance lighting designer for globally renowned institutions such as the Bavarian State Opera, Salzburg Festival, Berlin State Opera, and Teatro Nacional in Havana.
