Stephen Benigno

Stephen Benigno is an Assistant Professor and Director of the Principal Preparation Program at Texas A&M International University. With extensive experience in urban and high-risk educational environments, his research examines transformative instructional supervision and urban education reform.

Benigno's scholarship focuses on authentic leadership practices that build trust and transparency in challenging educational contexts. His publications address clinical supervision models, physical education policy, and strategies for navigating accountability systems. He investigates how principals can create supportive environments through empowerment and recognition while managing external policy pressures.

Benigno teaches courses aligned with Texas Principal Standards, covering education policy, school financing, legal frameworks, and data-driven decision making. His international presentations have addressed urban education reform in Greece and China.
