Stephen Bach

Professor Stephen Bach serves as Executive Dean of King's Business School at King's College London, where he holds the position of Professor of Employment Relations. His academic background includes a PhD from the University of Warwick, and he has held visiting positions at Cornell University.

Bach's research investigates human resource management at the intersection of public and private sectors, with particular focus on comparative public service employment relations, healthcare workforce issues, and the impact of austerity measures. His international advisory work includes collaborations with the International Labour Office, OECD, and World Health Organization.

His recent publications examine pandemic responses in healthcare employment, restructuring of public services, and regulatory frameworks in hospital networks. He leads research projects on service user involvement in HRM practice and consequences of austerity policies.

Honored with the SSPP Impact Prize, Bach contributes to NHS Pay Review Body deliberations and serves on the council of the Society for the Advancement of Management Studies.
