Dr Stephanie Sargeant is a Senior Lecturer in Environmental Sciences at the Centre for Research in Biosciences, University of the West of England (UWE Bristol), affiliated with the Department of Applied Sciences. She specializes in marine microbial ecology, aquatic biogeochemistry, and environmental DNA applications.
Research Interests:
- Microbial processing of organic matter and nutrients in aquatic systems
- Health implications of environmental microplastics
- Carbon cycling in marine environments
- Marine conservation through eDNA monitoring
Leadership: Co-leader of the Biospheric Microplastics Research Cluster (BMRC) with Dr Ben Williams.
