Stephanie Risse is Professor of German Linguistics/Multilingualism at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano. She serves as Co-Editor-in-Chief of the European Journal of Applied Linguistics and was recently appointed to the Kuratorium of the Stiftung Verbundenheit, representing German-speaking minorities globally.
Her research focuses on multilingual education, language policy, and minority language rights. Current work examines linguistic inclusion strategies in multilingual regions and democratic language policies. She advises OSCE on multilingual education in Central Asia and has extensive fieldwork experience across Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
Publications address linguistic diversity in South Tyrol, migration in multilingual contexts, and innovative teaching approaches for language learners. Her scholarship demonstrates consistent commitment to linguistic justice and interdisciplinary approaches to language education.
