Stephanie Phillips

Stephanie Phillips is an Instructor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), part of the College of Arts and Sciences. She serves as the Coordinator for Basic and Intermediate Algebra (MA 098 and MA 102). With a career spanning over two decades, she has taught various undergraduate mathematics courses including Algebra, Precalculus, Calculus, Statistics, and courses for future educators.

Education:

• B.S. in Education, Jacksonville State University (Secondary Education Mathematics)
• M.A. in Mathematics, East Carolina University

Experience: Mrs. Phillips has taught at institutions in Alabama, North Carolina, Ohio, and Arkansas before joining UAB in 2022. Her focus includes mathematics education, curriculum development, and supporting foundational mathematics courses. She coordinates algebraic programs to enhance student success in STEM pathways.
